+This video shows how to use pcbc-rnd's split tool to create silk for a traditional BJT symbol

+First draw an arc and modify the arc object properties to have 360 degrees
+
+Then, switch the line drawing style to orthogonal mode by using the / key 
+Ortho mode is shown in the operational readout below the main window, as an (X)
+
+Using the line drawing tool, draw a line that interesectes with the circle. Note that these lines can be drawn on grid but the intersection of the line and the circle is often off grid.  This is a good use case for spliting the line at the intersection. 
+
+Select the circle by clicking on it, and use the split(selected) action. then click on the line object to split it at the off-grid intersection of the line and the arc objects.
+
+The line segment outside the circle can now be edited to continue drawing a BJT symbol.
